Andrea X. Ales, Esq. was born and raised in Southern California. Andrea grew up in Malibu and attended college at California State University Long Beach (CSULB), where she earned her B.A. in Communication. Andrea has always been passionate about sports and entertainment. She has been an avid dancer and athlete her whole life. During her time at CSULB she was on the Snowboard and Ski Team, and represented for her University, and for Southern California at Nationals Competition in Sun Valley, Idaho.
Andrea attended law school and obtained her J.D. in 2018 at Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego, California. During law school, Andrea participated in her school's Sports Fellowship, and Alternative Dispute Resolution programs. She was also a board member for the American Constitution Society and Women's Law Association, and a member of Pasifika Law Students.
Andrea has been working at Yanny & Smith since 2006. She started as a legal and administrative assistant. Additionally, Andrea held multiple internships during her time at Yanny & Smith that reflected her passion for sports and entertainment, such as CBS Sports as a Broadcasting Intern, Basketball Manager for CSULB, and Sports Marketing Intern at Sports New Media in London, United Kingdom.
In 2018, Andrea worked on a now-famous RICO trial styled, US v. Mongols Nation MC, with Senior Partner Joseph Yanny. Andrea participated in every aspect of the trial with Lead Counsel Joseph Yanny to help assist him through the 3-month-long trial in Judge David Carter's courtroom in the Central District Court of California. At the heart of this case was the constitutional question of whether a collective membership mark could be confiscated without violating First Amendment Rights.
In addition to sports and entertainment, Andrea is passionate about giving back to her community, mentoring children, and making an impact. When Andrea is not working she enjoys spending time with her family, golfing, traveling, hiking, meditating, surfing, and anything that is outdoors.
Andrea is a member of the Beverly Hills Bar Association, Los Angeles County Bar Association, and the State Bar of California.
